Before every home game, Red Wings captain !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! looks up during the warm-up skate to where she would sometimes sit. There isn't much time to think about anything other than hockey in those moments leading up to the opening faceoff, but he makes sure he takes a moment. And somewhere in that moment within a moment, he thinks of her.
"It's so hard to say how and why we connected," Zetterberg said. "That's how life is; you connect better with some people."

He does a really great job at keeping the legacy of great Red Wings captains going. Stevie, Nick and now Hank.
I really need to dust this cubical.

Dammit, man, I wasn't going to cry today.
Also: Fuck cancer. And ALS, and all the other things that take our loved ones away.

Always was a fan of the Z. One of the most classiest players in the game. This is wonderful/

I've always known Zetterberg was a class act.

Hockey players seem to be the most down to earth of pro athletes and the Wings have been lucky enough to get some of the best. Good to know I'm not the only one with a dusty desk this morning.

Diseases like that really suck, especially when they get kids or people you love.
Condolences for your mother-in-law, I don't think I commented on that yesterday.

Yep, pretty much exactly what I was doing trying to finish reading it.

I think the Wings culture brings out the best in people. Even when they brought in guys like Hull and Chelios who seemed to have huge ego's before getting to the Wings. Somehow they just blend into the team.

The example that Yzerman set is definitely being followed up by Lidstrom and Zetterberg. Hopefully that is something the Wings keep for a long time.

You got the allergies too? Pro sports teams tend to do a lot with Children's Hospitals, but the Wings seem to do better than most. Maybe that's just my Wings fan coming through.

You've got to clean the desk off every once in a while. Apparently it's been a while since mine got cleaned too.

He definitely is carrying on what Yzerman and Lidstrom had going as Wings captains.

Allergies, onions, dust... Maybe even all three at once.

Thank you. Her passing was not unexpected, just a bit sudden.

Yep! They also have had a slew of great players like Yzerman, Osgood, Hasek, Lidstrom, Shanny, Datsyuk... I love that franchise.
